
Khambrel Marshall
Khambrel is an award-winning journalist who brings his broad spectrum of talent to News2Houston Daybreak from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and News2Houston First at Four.
He joined KPRC-TV in May 1999, moving here after 13 years in the Miami television market. Among his numerous honors is one of broadcasting's top awards, the Emmy, for a feature series titled "Guardians at Sea," chronicling the efforts of the U.S. Coast Guard to rescue Cuban and Haitian refugees crossing the Florida Straits.
Even though he was born in Ft. Bragg, N.C., Khambrel considers Marina, Calif., his hometown. He's lived all over the world, since his father was a first sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Khambrel received his broadcasting degree from Arizona State University. His first job in television was as weekend sports anchor in Phoenix. Khambrel remained in sports until news captured his attention while he was an anchor in Miami. He's now a dedicated and committed news journalist who excels at delivering breaking news to News2Houston viewers.
Golf is a favorite pastime, along with computers and reading Tom Clancy novels.
Khambrel is married with two teen-age daughters, as well as a grown stepdaughter.
